Noir Painting Celebrates Anniversary of New Gallery Space

“Grand Opening on Townsend”
30 X 40 acrylic on panel

About one year ago I snapped a photo at the grand opening of Arthaus' new space on Townsend Street in San Francisco. When a local gallery (not Arthaus) announced a juried night-themed show, I just had to paint this piece!

I love the multiple after-dark stories, the movement, and of course that single light on the front of the building. It took me about a month to complete (scroll down to see the work in progress), and I finished just in time to submit it for the juror’s consideration (fingers crossed!).
